Testimonial
I learned the Moving Form of PGSG in Boston in November of 1999. From the moment I encountered it, I knew it was exactly what I had been searching for.
I came to know about Qigong in 1987. I had a rare bone disease that became rarer still by turning malignant. After exhausting Western medical options, I sought new treatment in the form of acupuncture. The acupuncturist happened to be well skilled in Qigong and invited me to learn. In six weeks, my condition improved greatly. According to my doctors, I was out of danger. This experience changed my life. I wanted to train in Chinese Medicine to help people, and I wanted to learn all I could about Qigong.
In the years that followed I learned whatever and wherever I could. I traveled to mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and almost every Chinatown in North America, sensing that there was something extraordinarily profound that I had yet to discover. Most of the classes I took were, in some form, either dull replicas of all the other classes I had taken, or disappointments. Still, something continued to speak to me at the edge of my awareness, telling me that the “real thing” was out there.
One day in November 1999 a friend came to visit me at my office. When she walked in, her Qi field filled the room. I was surprised because I had seen her recently and such a huge change in energy usually takes a long time to manifest, at least as I understood it then. I asked her what she had been doing and she told me that she had just completed teacher training in Pangu Shengong. The sense that there was something great to be learned suddenly seemed more amplified. Right away, I asked her if she would teach me. She agreed, and those moments became the strongest experience of Qigong I had ever had up to that point.
Over the next few months I practiced diligently. Despite my being given a clean bill of health by physicians, ever since my illness in 1987 I never felt quite right. I fatigued easily and found it was very easy for me to get sick. After a few months of practice with PGSG, I noticed a substantial increase in my vitality, and that was the first winter I didn’t get sick.
That March I learned that Master Ou would be coming to Boston. I arrived to class early. Many of Master Ou’s earliest American students were there. They were all very friendly and introduced themselves. After meeting several students, I noticed that they all seemed to have more Qi strength and ability after 2 years of training in PGSG than I had in 12 years of other systems. I felt both thrilled and embarrassed, knowing I would have to start over again but convinced, more than ever, that I found what I was looking for.
As Master Ou lectured, the Qi sensations I was feeling were so strong I thought I could be hallucinating. What was striking to me then, as it is today, was how much Master Ou exemplified the opening maxim of the Qigong (“Take Kindness and Benevolence as Basis; Take Frankness and Friendliness to Heart”). He was warm, friendly, patient in answering questions, humble, and willing to help in any way he could. He explained that this was the heart of the Qigong, that it was more than just a way to master one’s health, it was a way to find real peace and contentment, a way to master one’s life.
As soon as it was offered (May, 2000), I took teacher training. In every case where the people learned the Qigong and practiced it diligently, I witnessed great improvements, some, even miraculous: people with cancer having their tumors disappear, allergies no longer a problem, a young girl diagnosed with a genetic learning impairment no longer judged to be on that “spectrum,” and dozens of people with low immunity and vitality, depression and anxiety, freed without the need for medication or procedures.
In the years that followed I consider myself to be very fortunate in being able to participate in numerous Pangu Shengong classes, events and retreats. I have made some very dear friends through this practice (some of us don’t even share a common spoken language but the language of love and kindness prove to be more than enough!) and truly feel myself to be part of a greater Family fostered by this Qigong and the teachings of Master Ou.
For many years now I’ve often wanted to find a way to truly express my profound gratitude for what Master Ou has given. I told him this. He smiled. “Just practice what I’ve taught you,” he said.
