RoseWright

Pangu Shengong (Pan Gu Mystical Qigong) instructor who is certified to teach the Moving Form.

Rose is an Artist that lives in Pennsylvania.

At the age of fourteen I began my professional dance career with the Pennsylvania Ballet Company. In New York I was a founding member of Twyla Tharp’s dance company, performing both nationally and internationally on stage, television, and film and then assisting Ms. Tharp as her Rehearsal Director. Upon leaving the company, I returned periodically as a Special Cosultant in Dance. In 1990, I received a BFA in Fiber from the Swain School of Design, now part of the UMass system, and since then have continued to make and show my art. Besides ballet, I’ve studied aikido, yoga, taijiquan, and qigong with various teachers. I first learned PGSG in 1998 from Master Ou and immediately felt benefits, especially emotionally. Along with my husband, I became an instructor in Dec. 2000.

Experience Teaching PGSG:

I wanted to become an instructor of PGSG in order to share this remarkable qigong/shengong with friends and family and others in need or who were interested. Since I am not a health practioner, I do not come into contact with people/patients in need on a regular basis. I have taught PGSG, along with my husband, Robert A. Anderson, to various people who have expressed an interest in qigong. We encourage them to go to the Pangu website to read about PGSG and then commit to practicing the form at least once a day for three months in order to reap the benefits and realize it is a daily practice. The people I/we have taught have agreed to this but, alas, not everyone carries through even though I make myself available to answer questions or address problems they might be having. I find it difficult to help people understand what a gift PGSG is and how beneficial it can be to them.

PGSG Activities:

With the help of my Chinese friends, I have been periodically working on making the Romanization (Pinyin for the Mandarin and now Jyutping for the Cantonese) of the songs and chants available to PGSG students who are interested so we will be able to sing and recite with other PGSG students (of all nationalities) and with Master Ou. Also, with their help, I have worked on the English translation of the calligraphy on the scarf for sale (also on Chanting CD 2, Track 9, “Appreciating the Delight of Spring”) and will be working on several others. There is still much work to be done!
