A Profound Experience at Master Ou’s Healing Concert in October 2012 – by Anisha Desai
Many people have asked me about the trip to Macau with Master Ou Wen Wei. It’s to difficult to find words to describe such a rich and profound experience. Imagine feeling like you’re a in a beautiful dream the entire trip. Things seem brighter, sounds are louder and cleaner, and experiences are both amplified and felt more deeply thought the heart. The gratitude I have and the generosity, love and kindness I felt throughout the trip is incomparable to anything I have ever felt.
The hearts of all the Pangu students in Macau and Hong Kong were enveloping us with kindness and the immense Divine Love pouring through Master Ou’s heart was profoundly touching. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of how much he loves his students, and what a beautiful example it is of how to walk through this world.
On October 3, 2012, after months of practicing, I did something I never imagined I could. I sang and chanted on stage in a language I don’t speak to 2,000 Chinese students. While actually reciting in Cantonese surprised many of the Pangu students, they were also incredibly moved to see a foreigner expressing deep sentiments through their own language. What an honor it was to spread more love from my heart to their’s, and to feel their expanding love in return!
Master Ou had said the calmer we are the more love will be emitted to the audience. Before I went on stage, I asked Master Ou, “you know that feeling of your heart pounding when you have no control over it? What should I do?”
He said “connect to my heart, imagine what I would do, smile at the audience and they will smile back. The separation between you will become less. And remember what an honor it is to spread more love and healing to more people.” I remembered his words and my heart miraculously managed to internalize them and remain relatively calm!
One of the reasons he wanted us to perform was to show his students that even though I was a foreigner singing in a language I don’t speak, I was still able to spread more love and healing and we all are capable of connecting to others regardless of race, culture or religion. It was an inspiration for the idea that we are all one, we share one heart and we all speak the language of love. It’s what we all hunger for and what we all have the capacity to give, endlessly and continuously. So I hope I have expressed and shared that love with you today through these words.
