Divine Power Saved me from a Car Accident – By Jessica Lin

At around 4 p.m. on January 22, while driving on the busy Highway 4, there was an unusual sound coming from the front of my car. I felt the car became bumpy and checked the display inside the car, which showed the tire pressure and everything was normal. I thought it might be caused by the uneven road surface. A few minutes later, when I turned onto Highway 680, the car became less bumpy, but the acceleration weakened, and I was not sure how to deal with it. Later I thought it would be better to go home and go to the nearby tire repair shop to check it out immediately. So, I called my husband, Jason, right away telling him to pick me up at the maintenance department half an hour later. Then, I sped home, but when I passed the Benicia-Martinez bridge, I noticed that the sound got louder, and the car seemed bumpy and weak. I was worried that the tire had blown out, so I looked at the screen nervously, but I saw that the air pressure of the four tires remained constant and within normal values. What went wrong? Unknowingly, anxiety and worry shrouded my mind like a thick shadow. How to deal with this? Was something about to happen?

Fortunately, just when I was suffering from this hesitation, confusion, tension, and fear, I suddenly felt a mystical, kind and firm guidance in my soul: “Slow down and find a safe place to stop!” I was a little relieved and immediately followed this wonderful guidance. I drove slowly, crossed the bridge, drove to the middle shoulder on the left, and braked immediately. But before the car came to a complete stop, there was a sudden loud noise, and a tire on the left front flew into the sky at high speed like a virtual CGI effect in a movie, crossed the concrete median barrier and several opposite traffic lanes, and fell into the shrubbery beside the road. My whole body also slumped forward sharply as the front of the car lost its balance, shaking violently. Fortunately, I was unscathed and had no pain!

This drastic change instantly left me at a loss. Extreme panic and immense joy surged into my heart at the same time. I quickly took a deep breath and prayed in my heart: “Thank you Pangu, thank you Master Ou for your blessing!”

When I regained my composure, I couldn’t help but look up and saw a beautiful double rainbow appearing in front of me, and its vibrant colors were twinkling and shining, as if quietly telling me that this was the new life of body and soul given to me by Pangu and Master Ou! I was deeply touched! I was extremely grateful! But I also felt very guilty.

What a coincidence! — That night, I quickly picked up the Chinese version of The Path of Life and unintentionally opened to the chapter entitled “All Disasters Will Have Been Tactically Eliminated” in Volume III (Chapter 13, Pg.77). I couldn’t help being shocked, and I immediately stared at it and read it carefully, trying to understand it. Unexpectedly, I was both excited and sweating — it turns out that in Master Ou’s writing, he has already made an extremely sophisticated and detailed discussion on the causes of all disasters in the world and how to recognize, prevent and resolve them! Among them was a practical and good way to resolve car accidents — “One is to let people bring their true foresight abilities into full play; they can take appropriate control of the speed that is liable to produce accidents.”(Pg. 77) I understood, that it is that kind of magical guidance that allowed me to control the speed of the car appropriately and drive to a safe area, thus avoiding a horrifying car accident!

It’s just that my usual performance of study and self-cultivation are too far from Master Ou’s requirements. In fact, if I go by the discussions about “sincerity” and “causality” taught by Master Ou, I am not qualified to receive such a huge grace! The more I think about it, the more excited and guilty I feel.
It turned out that a few days before the accident, I had heard some unusual noises from the front of the car at intermittent intervals. On the morning of the accident, the noises were even louder while turning the car. All these many signs were giving me a warning — send the car for inspection promptly! But deep down in my heart, I do not have the kind of high-level sincere respect and love for people and things that Master Ou requires. Instead, I am willing to be narrow-minded, lazy, self-righteous and rely on luck. This kind of straight-line thinking resulted in me missing an opportunity to avoid the car accident in advance. Compared with the magical example from Master Ou who only needed to change tires on his first Toyota car after driving more than 100,000 miles, my case is really far, far away!

Fortunately, Pangu and Master Ou still cared for and protected me, a foolish and uncultivated student, for free, so that I was safe and sound in this sudden car accident, and no one else was harmed! During the three hours of waiting for the tow truck, although I still had fear and panic, I could calmly cling to and review the magical and kind guidance in my soul that saved me from danger, and tried to make myself feel more sincere. The positive emotions of gratitude and joy helped my body and mind relax as soon as possible. Then, I carefully observed the damaged vehicle and observed the endless flow of traffic on both sides of the highway… Everything in front of me shocked my soul again and made me think of many, many things. I remember that I have seen many tragic car accidents. Any car accident caused by a tire flying off the highway will most likely result in car crashes, death, or serious injuries, and will also cause serious traffic jams. The actual situation I’m faced was that I was able to park on a safe roadside shoulder with minimal damage, and I just had to wait for the car to be towed away. The flying tire actually did not harm any people or vehicles, so they did not have any negative impact on the traffic flow on both sides of the highway. Even the Highway Patrol cars drove by but didn’t stop. It’s like nothing happened at all! What was this scene? It was a miracle! I couldn’t help but think of some of Master Ou’s teachings about “the heart connecting and caring about the safety of the entire world”, and suddenly realized: It is Pangu and Master Ou who are protecting me, and at the same time, protecting all people and everything! Therefore, I decided in my heart that I must bow to thank Pangu and Master Ou!

Two days later, I hurriedly wrote a rough summary of my experience and submitted it to Master Ou for review. I was kindly accepted by Master Ou, and he gently encouraged me to “write more detailed and nuanced words, and express my true experience concisely and appropriately, so that I can feel more relieved and let others benefit from it.” I felt Master Ou’s affectionate care and comfort, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of warmth, excitement, and peace in my heart!

From this experience in which divine power saved me from a serious car accident, I learned a lot and I am sincerely grateful and humbled.
