A Wonderful Birthday Event–Celebration and Workshop for Better Health and Living
Master Ou’s birthday celebration is one of Pangu Shengong’s annual celebrations, the most significant, happy, cheerful and meaningful event of the year. For 2016, our two day celebration took place on Feb. 5 and 6 in Macau, China.
We were blessed with sunny and warm weather. Unexpected, because of the typically low temperature, heavy clouds and rainy days which lasted for weeks previously.
More than eight hundred Pangu Shengong practitioners attended the event. A big family reunion!
On Feb. 5, Master Ou gave a 5 hour presentation entitled: “One will have a wonderful life with a well cultivated heart and soul.”
He defined a wonderful life as happy and content, with good physical health, strong morality and useful life skills, explaining that cultivating one’s heart and soul is the key to creating such a life. He continued to expound upon the meaning of cultivating heart and soul, saying that it involves two important steps: first, we must try our best to recognize our weaknesses, deficiencies, and evil tendencies; and then must work hard on reforming and refining our heart and soul towards developing and nurturing good habits and virtues.
We felt grateful for Master Ou’s hard work, especially on his birthday, giving us a clear and profound lecture that will act as guidance in the New Year.
On Feb. 6, three exciting events marked the celebration:
At 9am, there was a ceremony recognizing the fourth anniversary of The Macau Pangu Shengong Association. Simple and solemn, it was lead by Maggie, the chairwomen of the association, who summarized how Pangu Shengong students in Macau used this qigong practice to help themselves and others improve health and bring kindness and happiness to their society.
After the ceremony, Master Ou gave another lecture entitled “Let your heart be filled with kindness; let your heart be filled with contentment.”
After lunch, the birthday party began. Many Pangu Shengong students got on stage to perform chants, songs, and dance. Highlights of the performances included Manling, a 5 year old from Nanjing city. She sang “Sound-of-Sands Hill, Crescent-Moon Lake, and then performed a chant. Our MC did an interview with her on the stage, asking, “Is it true that since you were born you haven’t taken medicine or been to a doctor?” She answered: “Yes. Because I have a magic tool—Pangu Shengong.”
The MC asked: “Do you know what Faith is and what Heart-cultivation is?” She replied: “Faith is the bright light that leads life toward the direction of kindness; heart-cultivation is the tool to keep the light on and shining brightly.”
The MC was amazed and asked further: “How did you come to know that?”
She said: “I learned it from Master Ou’s book About Culture. I have read 95 pages.”
The MC asked: “What is your biggest wish?”
She answered sincerely: “I wanted to meet grandpa Ou (Master Ou)!”
Master Ou immediately went on stage, picked her up, held her in his arms and kissed her. As she kissed him back, it was a touching moment for all!
“Night, Misty night, dark night, fathomless night! You are full of mysterious charms, always leading everything into tranquility…” was sung by a group of Pangu Shengong students from Beijing and Guangzhou. Most of this group were visual impaired. Their singing was peaceful, bringing the audience a sense of tranquility and optimism.
There were 30 performances in total. All songs and chants in the performances were composed by Master Ou, as Master Ou’s songs and chants provide healing effects, used by thousands daily for music therapy and spiritual training. Performing these songs and chants on his birthday was our sincere present.
The party concluded at 3pm, with Master Ou singing “Dreamland Waltz” with us. We look forward to seeing each other again next year!
